Stand up paddleboarding for schools and youth organisations
Stand up paddleboarding offers a whole new array of activities for youngsters. Exploring, cruising, racing, team-building style activities, marine studies, and lots more. For younger children
Firstly, and most importantly, stand up paddleboarding is a whole lot of fun. Your kids will be laughing from start to finish. Whenever we've run paddleboarding as part of kids multi-activity days, it's usually been voted favourite. However, it's more than just fun - it is great for confidence boosting (as it's actually very easy but looks and feels cool!), it is fantastic for developing balance skills and upper body strength. It also offers a great platform for team games and team work.
For Older Children
Waikeke High School runs a Sea Sports Academy for their 16-18 year old students, and they've been using Red Airs for the past couple of terms. As well as learning to paddleboard, the students have used the boards for exploration cruises, competition days, and as platforms for learning to surf.
Deputy Principal Tony Sears (see bottom of page, leading a group into some fairly deep-country exploring!), reports that they have been really pleased with them, and are looking to expand their paddleboarding activities further.
